Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is a leader in designing advanced, embedded computing products for the harsh environments seen in military and industrial applications.

They utilise best-in-class design, test, and manufacturing practices to develop products that deliver reliable operation in the extremes of temperature, shock, vibration, and environment.

Three levels of ruggedization are available for X-ES products, supporting commercial, extended temperature, and conduction-cooled applications. Products may be air-cooled or conduction-cooled depending on the end application. These levels allow our customers to tailor a solution to their application by selecting the range that best suits their needs for thermal, vibration, shock and performance.

Saving Water with Trunkminder and VersaLogic

Despite the recent floods, water conservation has never been so important, and with around 3bn litres of water being leaked every day by our water companies, early detection of pipeline failures is imperative.

Syrinix Ltd, based in Norwich, has developed the Trunkminder, a fully automated data acquisition system designed to continuously monitor water pipelines, in order to detect leaks before they become a major problem.

Trunkminder uses an array of sensors attached to pipelines to provide instant alerts if a leak occurs, and to gather data which provides real-time information on what is happening in the pipe. Working at a significantly higher level of sensitivity than traditional pressure/flow-based devices, alerts can identify the site of a leak to within one metre.

The VersaLogic Tomcat provides the Trunkminder with a CPU boasting 800 MHz performance and very low power draw, due to its use of the highly integrated Vortex86DX chip. With no moving parts, full industrial temperature rating and soldered-on RAM, all on the compact PC/104 form factor, it is ideal for operation in applications like the Trunkminder, where size and weight are critical factors.

With a 5 year+ production life guarantee, and a standard 2 year warranty, the VersaLogic Tomcat is an ideal choice for applications needing exceptional reliability and long term availability.

For more information on the VersaLogic range of embedded SBCs please give us a call on +44 1672 511166, or drop us an email!

We look forward to hearing from you.

Cougars and Tigers and Manx, Oh My!!

Theres no place like…. Oregon
(when it comes to the design of PC/104 boards!)

Once upon a time, way back in 1976, VersaLogic Corporation was born. The fledgling company wanted to provide customers with the highest quality industrial computer products on the market.

Not satisfied with just offering high quality products, they decided to support every board they made for a minimum of 5 years, which meant that their lovely customers could virtually eliminate product redesign during the lifecycle of their projects.

Over the years the clever team at VersaLogic have designed and developed a huge range of boards, and have realised their dream of becoming industry leaders in the embedded industrial computer market.

PC/104 is one of the smallest form factors available, making the VersaLogic range perfect for customers who have limited space to play with. With features including 3D graphics, low power consumption and gigabit ethernet there is a VersaLogic board to give your project the happily ever after it deserves.

Somewhere, over the Atlantic, in Eugene, USA
VersaLogic make PC/104 boards, each and every day
Somewhere over in Oregon, where skies are blue
VersaLogic make EPIC and EBX boards too…..
