One of our longest running partnerships is with VersaLogic Corp. VersaLogic is a leading provider of rugged industrial computers to OEMs for embedded control and industrial control applications, and has a diverse range of form factors, processors and expansion options in their range.
VersaLogic is constantly innovating, which is great news for our UK customers who are always looking for cutting edge technology. We are very pleased to announce that their “Grizzly” 16-core embedded server product is now available as part of their Turnkey Evaluation Program loaner program, in which they offer their popular board-level products as boxed, turnkey systems, complete with an installed OS, for quick and easy testing and evaluation.
The Grizzly embedded server features an Intel 16-core processor, up to
128 GB of ECC RAM, two SFP+ 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, M.2 socket for
data storage, and operation over the full -40° to +85°C industrial
temperature range. The evaluation systems come pre-loaded with either Windows Server or a
Linux OS, and a 250 GB solid state drive installed in the M.2 socket.
SPF+ modules for 10 GbE Fibre and copper are included.
Len Crane, VersaLogic's President, points out how these eval systems can save time and effort; “These ready-to-power-up systems save a ton of time during initial testing. Just turn it on, load your software, and see how it performs. These Turnkey Eval Systems eliminate 95% of the setup required to test board-level products.”

Embedded Systems 'R' Us!
Here at Sarsen embedded systems are just what we do. They are our core business, and we’ve got a crack team of manufacturing partners that enable us to help you, the lovely customer, find solutions for your embedded computing requirements. It can be a challenge, so we offer a wide range of high quality, high reliability products that support a lot of different market sectors.
One of our newest additions to the product line, Dave, has risen to the challenge of embedded product development by designing and manufacturing complete devices, including both software and hardware. The result is a complete line of CPU modules, covering x86, ARM and PowerPC architectures, with high-end and entry level models.
Dave’s aim is to help customers save development time and engineering costs, which is why each CPU is available with its own evaluation board and development kit, so you can easily test all the features on the module.
The BORA is the newest high performance CPU module from DAVE, powered by the Dual Cortex-A9 with the FPGA "Zynq" XC7Z010 / XC7Z020 application processor from Xilinx. The BoraEVB-Lite is a carrier board designed to host the Bora system-on-module.

BittWare's Anemone - A New Approach to Floating Point DSP
Ah-ne-MO-nee
It’s a word that is quite often mis-pronounced.
It’s not Ane-No-Me. Or worse – An-En-ema. Definitely not that!
BittWare’s first generation Anemone chip, the Anemone104 (AN104) is a completely scalable multicore processor with 16 eCores that provide a total sustained performance of 19.2 GFLOPS while consuming only 1 Watt of core power.
Featuring the Epiphany architecture from Adapteva, the BittWare Anemone combines the best assets of both FPGA and floating point DSP technology, thereby offering a completely new approach to floating point digital signal processing. The FPGA handles all the memory, I/O interfacing, protocol processing, and special functions, in addition to any computational tasks it may perform. This leaves the Anemone free to perform the complex processing tasks that DSPs are ideal for.
The AN104 features an internal high-throughput mesh network, with separate data paths for on-chip and off-chip communications. Total on-chip, inter-core bandwidth is 76.8 GBytes/sec full duplex, with an additional 8 GBytes/sec of off-chip bandwidth.
The BittWare Anemone Evaluation Kit provides a cost-effective way to begin evaluating the Anemone co-processor for FPGAs, featuring an Anemone104 and Altera Stratix III FPGA based evaluation board - ready to use out of the box, with the Ubuntu Linux OS and Anemone development tools installed on an included laptop.

New and Enhanced Data Acquisition and Control Hardware from United Electronic Industries
Who
needs the Argos catalogue? Write your application Christmas list using the
brand new brochure from UEI!
Continuing to grow, the latest edition of the catalogue is 40 pages long and filled cover-to-cover, with information on the company's ever expanding product line as well as a number of new application stories, and an all new FAQ section. Request a brochure now from Sarsen Technology!
One of the major announcements in
this volume is the new performance available in the UEILogger. The overall
sample rate has been increased by an order of magnitude and the maximum SD card
size has gone from 4 GB to 32 GB. In addition the UEILogger now provides alarm
outputs, and can now log data from
the MIL-STD-1553 bus.
In the avionics world, the DNx-AFDX-664 is scheduled to be released in late 2012 and will be UEI’s first product in the AFDX market place. It joins the existing line which currently includes ARINC-429/708/453 and MIL-STD-1553 interfaces.
All hardware manufactured by UEI is available for evaluation. In fact any order for standard product with a total value less than $10,000 is automatically covered by the 30-day evaluation policy and may be returned within 30 days of shipment without restocking fees.
Give us a call to discuss your requirements on +44 1672 511166, or email us with the details!
