EIZO Rugged Releases 6-channel XMC Graphics/GPGPU Card

EIZO Rugged has just announced a game-changing, all-in-one solution with the ability to capture, process, encode, decode, display, and stream video and audio data, all with exceptionally low latency.

Rugged and packed with features, it's a thing of beauty - our team is excited to talk to you about it...

Based on the NVIDIA® Quadro® P2000 GPU with NVIDIA Pascal™ architecture, the Condor NVP2102AxX card also efficiently supports CUDA and OpenCL based GPGPU computing, AI processing (artificial intelligence), deep learning and H.265/H.264 encoding/decoding, with all of the processing done in hardware.

High-speed data transfer and exceptionally low latency levels are achieved with the Condor NVP2102AxX graphics processor by optimising NVIDIA’s GPUDirect RDMA (remote direct memory access) feature. This enables the captured video data to be sent over PCIe, bypassing system memory, directly to GPU memory for analysis/processing/display, almost in real time.

In GPU memory, the applications can do processing such as image analysis, image enhancement, 360-degree video stitching, sensor fusion, and target detection using the GPGPU (CUDA/OpenCL™) technology. The card supports multiple outputs including 3G-SDI, DisplayPort and DVI.

With air or conduction cooled options available, as well as a number of input/output configurations please contact one of our engineers to discuss the correct configuration for your application.

In Case You Missed It... DSEI 2017

Sarsen Technology exhibited in the dedicated Security Zone at DSEI 2017, showcasing the some of the worlds highest-performance computing hardware from some of our international manufacturers..

We were joined by Ken Sheth and Tony Barbieri from EIZO Rugged Solutions who were running a very cool interactive GPGPU CUDA demo, based on the new Condor GR3 3U VPX single board computer.

Kerry Howell and Gary Harris from VersaLogic were also with us on the stand and introduced their brand new Ethernet over Fibre mini PCIe module which was very popular. VersaLogic's family of rugged, embedded computers were on display, including a special focus on the modules with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), including the new Raven and Liger boards.

If you stopped by the stand you would have seen a number of 1553 and ARINC boards from Alta Data and a wide range of rugged SBCs from Extreme Engineering, including the XPedite8150 COM Express Module based on the Intel Atom E3800 'Bay Trail' series of processors. We also had a lot of interest in the PCIe boards from BittWare, featuring both Xilinx UltraScale and Intel Arria 10 and Stratix V FPGAs.

Remember Remember.......
Sandwiched in between the festivities of Hallowe'en and Christmas is Bonfire Night. A time to remember the Gunpowder plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes was caught guarding explosives hidden under the House of Lords, in an attempt to assassinate King James I of England.
Fireworks date back to 7th century China, where they were invented. Also known as ‘Explosive Pyrotechnics’, fireworks are actually designed not to explode. To give a good visual show the ingredients need to burn slowly, in order to produce the colours and sparkles found in today’s displays. You learn something new every day!
But don't forget, while that Youtube video of the guy shooting fireworks from various parts of his body is really funny, fireworks are dangerous, so be safe this weekend.

White Paper: Tech Source - Using Graphics Chips for General Purpose Computing

Just uploaded to the Sarsen Technology web site is a new white paper from Tech Source. It details how graphics chips become more powerful and how the power of these GPUs can be harnessed. While typical CPUs can process one single stream of commands per core, a modern graphics chip can process hundreds of simple floating point operations at the same time. The benefits of this translate directly into many applications where thousands of complex vector equations are required to be performed every second.

Read the Tech Source white paper: here.
