All monitors come with various features to make installation easy in any setting, including standard interfaces such as 3G-SDI, DVI, RGB, USB and serial communication, as well as a 19-inch rack mounting option. Standard panel sizes of 21.5-inches and 24-inches are available, other sizes can be provided on request.

As well as easy installation, the Talon monitors come with several features that make usability super easy. Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture allows users to display multiple inputs at once, and a projected capacitive (PCAP) touchscreen option with 5-point multitouch or analog resistive touch option makes using the interface straightforward and intuitive.

Tyton VS2 from EIZO Rugged Solutions is a powerful H.265 (HEVC) / H.264 (AVC) video encoding and streaming solution that has been designed to serve video transmission needs in extreme field environments. Tyton VS2 is non-intrusive and yet feature rich, offering bypass video outputs, low latency encoding and low power consumption.

The rugged, standalone Tyton VS2 is capable of capturing two 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SD-SDI video inputs simultaneously and encoding them using the highly versatile video encoding standard H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC), as well as the newly adopted H.265 (HEVC) standard. It can create multiple encoded video streams per input (input is split and encoded separately with unique settings per encode.

Rugged Multi Mission Computer Manufacturer Expands the Family

Tech Source’s Tyton VS1 Rugged H.264 Video Encoder Delivers Dual HD-SDI Inputs and Bypass Video Outputs

Since their very first day back in 1987, Tech Source has been a pioneer in high performance computer graphics hardware solutions for niche markets. The product range has evolved and grown over the years, and now includes graphics, imaging and video capture boards, H.264 encoders and high compression video recorders.

The latest innovation from the team at Tech Source is the Tyton VS1 H.264 video encoder. Designed for military, aerospace and harsh environment C4ISR markets, it offers a rugged, small form factor box-level video encoding and streaming solution.



The product features a hardware implementation of CoT (Cursor on Target) and KLV (Key Length Value) metadata insertion supported via RS-232 or Ethernet. Control of encoding settings and retrieval of Tyton health information are all performed using an API built around SNMP for simple and secure communication.

Tyton VS1 is rugged enough to operate in extremely harsh environments (shock, vibration, humidity) and temperatures from -45°C to 85°C (MIL-STD-810 & IP67), and comes with dedicated mounting holes for mounting on to racks. In the default configuration, the product accepts two high definition video inputs in 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SD-SDI format through BNC connectors. Audio, 1Gbps Ethernet & RS-232 are routed over a 22-pin rugged circular MIL spec connector.

The low power, low latency Tyton VS1 is an operating system independent, hardware agnostic, stand-alone rugged video encoding system. A control API is available for Windows XP/7/8 and Linux users to permit feature customisation and IP address setting.

Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) has introduced the XPedite8101 XMC/PMC and XPedite8150 Rugged COM Express® modules based on the Intel® Atom™ E3800 (formerly Bay Trail-I) processor family.

With Built-In Test (BIT) support, true configuration and obsolescence management, class III PCB fabrication and assembly, environmental qualification per MIL-STD-810, as well as many other features, X-ES E3800-based modules are designed and tested for maximum reliability in the most demanding environments and applications that require long life cycles. Also, instead of using a legacy BIOS-based bootloader, X-ES’s E3800-based modules support industry-leading boot times and drastically simplify system security by employing Intel’s Firmware Support Package (FSP) to power their open source coreboot bootloaders.

Wind River VxWorks and Linux Board Support Packages, as well as Microsoft Windows drivers, are available for the XPedite8101, XPedite8150, and XPedite8152. These products support the E3827, E3826, E3815, E3845, and E3825 processors from the E3800 series.

The E3800 series is the 4th generation Atom processor from Intel and was formerly known as the Bay Trail-I platform and Valleyview processor.

UEI Unveils the MIL-CUBE - IP65, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 Data Acquisition and I/O Platform

Housed in a compact 4.1” x 4.0” x 6.75” chassis, the DNA-PPC6-1G-MIL, or MIL-CUBE, delivers unmatched deployment flexibility. It’s easily configured as a stand-alone I/O controller or embedded, programmed and hardened for integration with high density, multi-function data acquisition systems.


The chassis is US manufactured, factory tested, rated for operation from -40°C to +70°C, able to withstand 5g vibration and 100g shock and designed to support a wide range of high- and low-voltage analog and digital signals. All I/O connections to the chassis are through 38999-style round connectors.
