Low-Latency Summit London 2012

Tim Norris, Robbie Burns & Nigel Norman participated in the Low-Latency Summit for High Frequency Financial Trading yesterday. Altera showcased a BittWare S5-PCIe Altera Stratix V FPGA PCIe format board on their booth. Burkhard Jour represented BittWare at the event organised the by the A-Team Group. The event was held at America Square Conference Centre and highlighted the issues around implementing new technologies such as large FPGAs in the HFT market space. There was a good and informed attendance. There was also a nice contrast between high technology such as the Altera Stratix V FPGA with 3.9 billion gates and the 2000 year old Roman wall next to the exhibition space.

Embedded World 2012 - Nuremberg

Nigel Norman of Sarsen Technology attended Embedded World 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany this week and met with colleagues from Altera, BittWare, Tech Source, VersaLogic and many more.

The successful Embedded World 2012 ended with two new records: 22,262 trade visitors from all over the world (+ 17 %) and 872 international exhibitors – up nine per cent over the previous year – make the tenth embedded world the biggest in the history of this event. “The embedded world Exhibition & Conference has shown once again that it is the top get-together for the embedded community. The rapid development in this sector is tangible at embedded world. The extension to five exhibition halls provided room for even more engineering know-how and pioneering innovations across all areas of the sector,” explains Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Sturm, HTWK Leipzig, Chairman of the embedded world Exhibition Committee. The two renowned conferences – the embedded world Conference and the electronic displays Conference – were just as powerful. With 19 per cent more participants and speakers, they confirm their position as outstanding working platforms for embedded experts.
